INclude has chosen Western North Carolina (WNC) as the base for its pilot due to regional needs, economic disparities, and partnerships. WNC has a mix of adequate and excellent mental health services, concentrated in and around Asheville and sparse elsewhere. It has many low-income households in rural areas, where residents are least likely to access care, and local clinics are often understaffed and poorly equipped to provide it. Very often, higher-income households also do not know how to identify and access care.
