Aung Clinic Mental Health InitiativeCity, Country: Yangon, Myanmar
Summary: Aung clinic is a small community clinic in Yangon that provides holistic psychological support and services for people with various mental health challenges and intellectual disabilities and their families through integrated support from a range of professionals including a psychiatrist, a general medical practitioner with mental health skills, art therapists, sessional artist and community mental health workers. It provides individual and group counseling, group therapy, art therapy, self - help and peer support groups, peer art, EMDR therapy, vocational training, cooking club, income generation for persons with lived experience, mental health assessment, psychiatric treatment , and training and activities to strengthen independent living, community inclusion, and ending institutionalization. Aung Clinic also works on anti -stigma and discrimination, human rights and empowerment, and compliance with the UNCRPD. We also conduct research and advocacy to raise awareness about mental health and rights of people with psychosocial disabilities.

Its mission is to create better living conditions for people with disabilities and to support their inclusion into society.
